What Pace Do You Need To Keep In Order To Win The Boston Marathon?

I would need to ride my electric scooter to be able to keep up with these winners, and even then, I would likely still lose since the battery tops out at 12mph. This also assumes the battery lasts at full speed for over 2 hours. It’s hard to imagine that the human body is capable of running at this pace for that long of a period.

The winning times have improved dramatically over the last 125+ years thanks to several factors. For one the race is much more global and competitive as there are many more participants running. In the first 30 years of the race the winner was an American 21x, whereas the last 30 years saw an American win only 1x. People travel from all over the world to come and compete at the Boston Marathon. Other factors that have greatly helped improve times is footwear, nutrition, and training.

When do you think we’ll see the Boston Marathon winner crack the 2-hour mark?
